Team Tip 1: Great fundraising ideas
Many team captains around the country, engage in fundraising activities throughout the year. We’ll share their information by posting their upcoming team events, success stories, and their event pictures for everyone to read on the “Your Fundraisers” page.
Do you have a great idea for a fundraiser or have you hosted an event that was fun and profitable? We could all use a little help in creating fun and interesting ways to raise charitable donations. Send us your ideas, and we’ll share them with other Angel teams…Check out, Fundraising Ideas throughout the year for more tips.
Team Tip 2: Turn your money in early
Don’t wait till April 24th, turn in your money as you raise it; especially those teams who qualify for the “Challenge” money. The earlier you send in your money, the more likely you can increase your team total with challenge money. Remember to put your team name on all checks and/or other paperwork, to be sure your team receives the proper team credit.
The cut off date for mailing in monies collected is April 11th. We cannot guarantee that any money we receive, postmarked after April 12th, will be included in your 2010 team total. Any money you collect after April 11th and turned in at the event on April 24th will be added to your 2010 team total.
Team Tip 3: Sell your items at Angels
Teams may sell their fundraising items at Angels Among Us. We will be happy to provide a table for you and your team for this purpose. Please let us know by March 31st in order to reserve a table for event day.
Team Tip 4: Corporate Matching Gift Programs
Here’s an easy way to double a donation…Company Matching Programs! Make sure you tell your donors to check with their employer.
Team Tip 5: Team Captains Collect All Donations
On event day the team captain is responsible for collecting registration money from team members who are not pre-registered, and donations collected after April 11th. The team captain should total all monies and turn in everything collected at one time.
Team Tip 6: Team Photo
The team captain is responsible for contacting the Duke staff to schedule a photo time for a team picture; and to let their team members know what time and where to meet, on event day, to have the picture taken time.
Team Tip 7: Start a Team Blog
A blog is an easy-to-use web site, where you can quickly post thoughts, interact with people, and more. It’s an easy way to keep up with your team members and other Angel teams. Send us the link to your blog and we will post it.
